With a 1st grade general education or ICT class of 25-32 children as your model, use information from this week’s reading to create 2 Lesson Plans that focus on a target concept or skill in math. Look at the packaged lesson found in the module folder. Here is the scenario: you taught this packaged math lesson to your class and many in the class struggled to understand the concept while a small group in the class caught on right away. You want to create an additional lesson plan that allows the children who struggled to learn this same concept in a different way than in the original lesson. Additionally, you want to create a lesson plan for the small group who caught on that will expand on their knowledge.
- Write lesson plan 1 for the group of children who struggled with the concept. Write lesson plan 2 for those who were able to grasp the concept. Be sure to integrate the ideas from our chapters into your lesson plan activities.
- Prepare a 3-5 page double-spaced rationale statement, supporting your choices for the two lesson plans. You must back up your choices with our textbook readings—you must refer to both books. Be sure to consider all of the topics we learned about in the course, not just math.
