Demonstrate your understanding of legal decisions regarding the rights of students with special educational needs by writing a paper to summarize key components of special education law as it applies to pK-12 settings. Include the following in your paper:

Begin with an introduction that explains the need for special education laws.
Include a short summary of each of the laws or legal terms below:

- Education for all Handicapped Children Act (EAHCA)
- Individual with Disabilities Act (IDEA of 1997 and 2004 amendments)
- Free and Appropriate Public Education
- Individual Education Plan (IEP)
- Least Restrictive Environment
- Discipline and stay put provisions

Summarize by describing how these laws impact student rights.
